The day before this image was made in November it rained all day and into the night, and I was hoping it would be clearing in the morning. I woke early eager to see the weather conditions, and drove 15 minutes down the hill to Round Valley where this pond had appeared overnight. The snowline on Mt. Tom and Wheeler Crest was as straight as I’ve ever seen it. As I set up my tripod and waited for the light, the sun colored the clouds a magnificent shade of pinkish-orange. This was truly a great day for being in the right place at the right time. This image looks especially vibrant printed on aluminum.
