The John Muir Trail passes by Thousand Island Lake – a lake in the Ansel Adams Wilderness I had long admired from beautiful photos. Shortly after moving to the Eastern Sierra in the mid-1990’s, I made a pilgrimage (with a backpack heavily laden with film) to see Banner Peak reflected in the lake at dawn. Wildflowers were at their peak, and I found a spot where the top of Banner Peak was reflected in the still water near shore. A few clouds in the east added interest by shading part of the peak’s east face. As the light crept down the face, the clouds shaded the peak, but when the sun warmed the tip of Banner Peak again, I clicked the shutter.
About the Prints
Prints are available in glossy, luster or matte finishes. All prints on photo paper are made with a CSI LightJet laser printer on Fuji Crystal Archive paper.
Giclee prints on canvas are made with Epson Ultrachrome pigmented inks rated at over 75 years on archival media. The canvas used is specially coated, ph neutral and archival, and comes in either Torino matte or Torino glossy.
Metal prints are printed with European dye sub inks on glossy or satin coating and heat-pressed onto .045 aluminum that is durable, scratch resistant, and easy to clean. They come with rounded corners and are ready to hang.
