Fall is one of my favorite seasons for photography, and Lower Rock Creek is one of my favorite locations for shooting fall colors. While trying to get beautiful original images of the riparian aspen forest last year, I challenged myself to move beyond making static images by trying to create more artistic and personal images. For this I employed Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), a technique that many digital photographers have used to give a more ethereal and free-form look to their photos. Like any experimental method, the results vary from poor to stunning. This image of aspen trees is one of my favorites. It was made by panning my tripod-secured camera down slowly during the 3 second exposure. The white aspen trunks are recognizable, but the individual leaves produce a blend of warm color tones.

This image works well printed on either canvas or metal.

About the Fine Art Photos

Premium fine art canvas wraps are printed directly onto museum-quality canvas using high-quality archival inks. The canvas used is specially coated, ph neutral and archival, and comes in surfaces that are glossy, lustre (near-matte surface), or metallic for a radiant glow.

Metal prints are made by infusing dyes directly onto specially coated, .045 aluminum sheets that are durable, scratch resistant, and easy to clean. They are waterproof and weatherproof, but should not be displayed in direct sunlight. They come with 1/8″ rounded corners and are ready to hang.

Prints take 15-20 days to process, then will be shipped.
